Junmping clips while in "PlayAll" mode may not work in Oct. 6, 2005 release. Problem Fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- October 6, 2005 Files: 1. FW1256C-oxfw911-10062005.bin: Firmware file format set to DV. Binary file. 2. FW1256C-oxfw911-10062005.zip: Same as above but in ZIP form. 3. CitiDISK DV Firmware Uploader v1.51.zip: New Firmware Uploader. This firmware uploader "Modify Configuration", "User Config" has "Power Off unit in 30 seconds after being ejected from computer". Default is "not-checked", must have Oct. 6, 2005 firmware to be effective. -- New Features: 1. Auto-PowerOff CitiDISK DV: Automatically power-off CitiDISK DV in 30 seconds after being ejected from computer. Must use "Firmware Uploader v1.51" to turn on such feature. 2. PlayAll & Qplay: "QPlay" -- plays the last captured scene is unchanged. -- "Toggle" the "Qplay" key will turn it on and off. "QPlay" light( orange ) stays solid while the clip is in playing. "PlayAll" -- plays all of the history clips in "Media" folder forever. -- To activate and to de-activate the "PlayAll" feature, simply "Press-and-Hold" the "QPlay" button for over three seconds. The "QPlay"( orange ) light stays "blinking" while "PlayAll" mode is on. Once entering the "PlayAll" mode, toggling the "QPlay" key will abort current playing clip and jump to next( if RED button is not on ) or to previous( if RED button is toggled on ) run; otherwise, it plays till the end of current clip and move to next or to previous one. When "RED" button is toggled on, both "orange" and "red' lights blink at the same time indicating "PlayAll" will jump backward clips. "Jumping" in forwards or in backwards are not the same as "REWIND" or clips be played backward( like man walk backward ). "PlayAll" plays always in forward direction but jumping backward or forward. Note: Jumping backward is in the unit of RUN( or called clip ) not sub-clip( break down clips due to file system limitation ). For example, if there are 0th to 10th clips they are numbered as "Clip0000.xx, Clip0001.xx, Clip0100.xx, Clip0101.xx, Clip0102.xx, Clip0103.xx, Clip0200.xx, Clip0300.xx, Clip0400.xx and Clip0500.xx". When "PlayAll" is activeated, it first plays "Clip0500.xx" and jump to "Clip0000.xx", "Clip0001.xx", "Clip0101.xx" and so on if "RED" button is not turned on. If "RED" button is turned on, it it first plays "Clip0500.xx" twice and jump to "Clip0400.xx", "Clip0301.xx", "Clip0200.xx", and "Clip0100.xx", "Clip0101.xx", "Clip0102.xx", "Clip0103.xx" and "Clip0000.xx", "Clip0001.xx". -- Bug Fixed: 1. After "QPlay" last scence and switch camera from VCR mode to camera mode and start to record, it may not record in the file format pre-selected. Problem fixed. 2. CitiDISK DV captured AVI2 clip hangs at the end of clip if Adobe Premier 1.5x & Matrox RT100 Xtreme( or Pro ) card is installed and Maxtrox RT100 plug-in is activated. Problem fixed. 3. If camera is not the only device in the FireWire chain aside from CitiDISK DV, it may not record. Problem fixed. 4. Simulated camera/VCR device like Miranda SDI<->DV bi-directional covnerter connects with CitiDISK DV may not work. Problem fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 15, 2004 Files: 1. FW1256C-oxfw911-11152004.bin: Firmware file format set to DV. Binary file. 2. FW1256C-oxfw911-11152004.zip: Same as above but in ZIP form. -- Bug Fixed: 1. After recording the clips and power down the CitiDISK DV. If power up again just to view the last clip shot prior to powring off, the CitiDISK DV will reboot. Problem fixed. 2. Time&Date information might be incorrect if using PAL-DV camera. Problem fixed. -- New Features: 1. Adds in Maxtrox AVI1 support. If user already purchased Maxtrox RT. X100 or X100 XtremePro or RTX10 systems and like to use the special editing software features provided by Maxtrox, which requires Maxtrox AVI1 format; now, it is supported by the released November 15, 2004 firmware. Here is how to activate it: a). Download the v1.4 CitiDISK DV firmware uploader from "www.shining.com", un-install the v1.3, un-zip the v1.4 uploader, and install it. b). Invoke the v1.4 uploader and upgrade the firmware to today's firwmare. Note: User should also download the "How to use CitiDISK DV Firmware Uploader v1.4?" first. c). In the "User Config" sub-menu, one extra selection for "Maxtrox AVI1" is also available; however, if your firmware revision is prior to Oct. 31, 2004, you would not be able to select it and a warning message would pop up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- October15, 2004 Files: 1. FW1256C-oxfw911-10152004.bin: Firmware file format set to DV. Binary file. 2. FW1256C-oxfw911-10152004.zip: Same as above but in ZIP form. -- Bug Fixed: 1. Vegas v5.0x may see the captured AVI2 video clip with extra audio length; however, Adobe Premier 6.x reports the same length. Problem fixed. 2. While playing the AVI2 clips in Microsoft Media Player, moving the scene back and forth may result sluggish behavior or "Warning message...". Problem fixed. 3. "QPlay" not functioning in allowable DV-IN PAL camera, problem fixed. However, not every PAL camera support DV-IN, you may need a widget to turn it on. 4. Mosaic noise seen in view finder while "Qplay" back last video clip. Problem fixed. -- Known Problems: 1. Maximum allowable clip( including runs & clips ) entries in "Media" folder in current release is 1022. If user accumulates a lot of video clips but empty them from computer, although the data space is re-claimed but not the file entry space. It would end up file system corruption should total entries inside the "Media" folder exceeds above limitation. Suggestion: A). Use "Quick Erase" function to clean up the "Media" folder structure after you had done transferred the video clips to the editing disk. Note: All the files( including run, clip or any data file ) inside "Media" folder will be deleted if "Quick Erase" function is activated. Please read through such section of the "user manual" or "quick usage guide" before performing such task. B). DO NOT put any other files into this "Media" folder, any other place of this disk is OK. 2. "QPLAY" might not play the last clip when "QPLAY" is the first function performed right after turn on CitiDISK DV. Reason being is a valid clip name with wrong extension may result in wrong clip to play. Suggestion: Move away those un-necessary files from "Media" folder. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- September 22, 2004 Files: 1. If set "Prescene-looping" to "No Loop" does not really turn off the function which causes inaccurately "recording". "Fixed". Once user upgrade this version of firmware from June 17, 2004. Please wait extra 10 seconds after "uploader" report the upgrade is finished. User should see both "RED" and "GREEN" LED's blink fastly during updating "prescene loop" default value. 2. If recording the tape content to CitiDISK DV unit and "Qplay" it for the verification purpose may not work. "Fixed". Note: "Qplay" in PAL system may not work due to "DV-IN" function is disabled. User can purchase a widget to enable such function. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 17, 2004 Files: 1. Change AVI single clip size to 2G instead of 4G so as to meet FAT32 Win98 maximum file size limitation. 2. Reduce PAL camcorder delayed response time while user stop recording. -- Known problems: 1. Pansonic DVX100 camcorder default to "DV Control" setting to "ON" which stop CitiDISK DV response to DV control command. User would have to use "REC" button on CitiDISK DV unit to start recording. Or, user can flip the DVX100 'DV Control" setting to "OFF". Note: Some camcorders may set default to "OFF" and user may have to change to "ON" so as to not-stop CitiDISK DV response. When this happens, user just has to try it out.
